A Backwards New Year's Resolution

Tonight we celebrate the new 2010 year and reflect on what we did in 2009. How about imagining that it's New Year's Eve 2011 and reminisce on 2010? Here's an exert from The Science of Getting Rich email I received describing two women having fun with this idea:

"We pretended it was New Year's Eve 20(11)!

So we were enjoying and being grateful
IN ADVANCE for all the good stuff we
were anticipating in the coming year.

It was so much fun to do that! I'd say one thing,
and then she'd shoot off another one. We were
playfully almost "competing" to see who could come
up with the best stuff. Big smiles all around.

I invite you to enjoy your own version in your
celebrations tonight or tomorrow. It feels great!

(And it's PERFECTLY in line with Wally's
teachings in The Science of Getting Rich, too."

"So ...

What are all the wonderful things that
happened in YOUR life and YOUR world
in ... 2010? :-D"

Happy New Year!! and here's to living the life you desire!

Resolution Time!

It's that time of year again. Are you the kind of person that sets New Year's Resolutions only to have them broken in the first few weeks or months? It's a pretty common phenomenon in our society. In general, we aren't very good at setting goals in the first place, and even worse at achieving them. There are a number of reasons for this. In some ways, it's the way the goal is stated such as "I want to lose 20 pounds" For many, this only leads to finding them again. A better way to state this might be "I want to release 20 pounds" or "I want to achieve my optimum weight of xxx by x date, with ease and joy" The goal should be clear, positive and measureable.
There are many goal setting programs available. The truth is, you are quite capable of achieving all of your goals if you put your mind to it. That is actually one of the biggest keys. Your mind doesn't actually know the difference between things you imagine you've accomplished, and the things you've actually accomplished. So here's a little exercise you can practice yourself, and change your results. Let's say your goal for this year is to earn a six figure income. How would you feel if that were to happen. Spend some time imagining that moment when you first break the $100,000 level. Would you jump for joy, call a friend, sing, laugh hysterically? Do those things now! Spend a few moments every day in the feeling of achieving the goal you set. Imagine that you've already achieved it. This doesn't mean run out and spend money you don't yet have, but it does mean you can start to visualize all the things you'll do once you have it. Once your mind begins to believe that you've done it and that it's possible, it will be far easier the second time. Don't you always find things easier to do after you've already done them once? This little tool alone, if implemented can drastically improve your goal achievement. Spend some time every day visualizing the results you want to have and feeling grateful for having them. Gratitude is one of the best ways to leverage the Law of Attraction. We all have so many things to be grateful for, and by focusing on what we have rather than what we don't we'll be attracting more of the things we want. Be thankful for your health, wealth, friends and freedoms no matter how little you feel they may be, and you will bring more to you.
Be thankful for the abundance in your life, and you will attract more of it to you.
Have a great day, and Happy New Year!
