Enlightened Warrior Training Camp Review

One thing we do at Gurutropolis is offer personalized experiential reviews of personal development courses we have attended or our members have attended. I recently participated in Peak Potentials Enlightened Warrior Training Camp held in Squamish British Columbia Canada from July 25 - 29, 2009. Facilitated by Doug Nelson with Rock Thomas I have some great things to say about this course.

Enlightened Warrior Training Camp is designed for you to access your true power and succeed in spite of anything. Everyone of us has limitless potential, which is tested through extreme experiential exercises. Utilizing your inner strength, you will learn you are far greater than you think and be amazed at what you can do.

Some of the key components of self discovery in the course are how to be strong and confident, how to approve of yourself and not desire approval or recognition from others, how to have courage in spite of fear, how to choose your responses instead of reacting from past condition and how to live with integrity.

The highlights of the course for me was this one night where we all got together and participated in something I have always wanted to do. I wish I could share with you that night and how special and enlightening it was. Every evening was special in its own … but this one night led by a remarkable young lady was an exceptional surprise. I also truly enjoyed our morning sessions – we started each day in a very special way. I wish I could say more, but it would ruin it for you should you participate in the future. Everything was wonderful - the food was unreal, the camp setting stunning, the people were inspiring and the experiences life changing.

There were a couple challenges as well. By the nature of the course and fitting in the material, it was tough to have time to eat meals or time to get to know everyone there. Also the days were very long and exhausting. The hardest part for me of the whole five days was getting to the shower first. With 400 people, sunny weather that caused much sweating, and only 5 showers for the girls to share, it was a challenge fitting in a shower… and trust me, you want a shower at the end of the daytime activity…and this is coming from a low maintenance girl.

I would most definitely recommend this course/camp to anyone. I loved it. I would even love to be a trainer for this experience. I am a person who takes risks and doesn’t have a lot of fears when it comes to experiential exercises. I found that even if something wasn’t risky for me, the risk was to step up and be a leader and help other through their fears. It was truly rewarding to reflect back at the end of an exercise and have someone say I helped him or her through. There are no words to describe the feelings I had knowing my assistance, encouragement and leadership enabled another person to accomplish their goal.

I suffer from trying to predict what might happen – don’t do that, it ruins the experience. I guessed 3 out of 4 of the major exercises just to be right (one of my big issues). However, the fourth exercise, no one could have guessed. In fact, for this extreme risk taker and do anything attitude I actually had a moment where I asked myself if they were serious, I was scared and it was good for me! I remember thinking “you want us to do what? This has to be a joke,” nope… no joke… I did it, and WOW talk about transformational!

I would like to share with you some testimonials that Peak Potentials has gathered on this course:

“I look back every day, to the strength that I witnessed in myself, and the powerful confidence that I gained while at camp. I know that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. I now know I will be successful and achieve my dreams in spite of anything, because I will never give up! You gave me the tool kit in my mind that says to me every day – be happy, succeed with integrity, and do everything at 100%, Thank You!” (David Trumm)

“I’m more disciplined, less stressed, calmer and more fulfilled. Now I fully trust that everything is working out perfectly even when I’ve become tired or discouraged. I realize that you never fail till you quit, and so I do not do either. I make a commitment and I see it through. I feel like the most blessed person on earth to have been given the gift of Warrior at such a young age!” (Brian Tobin - 17 years old)

For me this course re-grounded me on my path. I am and have always been a warrior. I am strong and I will succeed in spite of anything! This is a course everyone will enjoy and everyone will benefit from AND you will have a ton of fun doing it.
