Personal Accountability

Human nature is to “pass the buck” I know in my younger years it was very easy to blame others, and deflect the attention away from myself. It was always someone else’s fault. This appears to be the norm for many people today, "It has to be someone else’s fault it can’t be me”. As I have gotten older (and a little wiser) I have discovered that there is something almost magical when I take personal responsibility for my behavior and my results.
If something has gone wrong in my life I can usually find the culprit right there in the mirror. In every instance it comes back to the choices I have made that have gotten me to that point.
To realize that at the time I made the best possible choice with the information that I had, with No blame is very freeing
With Just this one “Tweak” in my attitude, although it may sound like a little thing, it has made such a monumental difference in my life.
Here is a list of the benefits of being personally accountable from Gallagher and Ventura’s book “Who are ‘THEY’ Anyway?’
-You have control of your destiny
-You become an active contributor rather than a passive observer
-others look to you for leadership
-You gain a reputation as a problem solver
-You enjoy the satisfaction that comes from getting things done - The power of positive doing.
